Here they come ...

I talked with people from France, Egypt, Canada, Denmark, China and Japan, not to mention people from Davis County, Utah, all of whom had come to Antelope Island for this year's bison round-up.

Most mentioned something about "one-of-a-kind opportunity," "real cowboys" and/or "wild west."

It was all that, and even though it's my fourth time covering it, it is still quite the incredible sight.

Lunar Eclipse

I tried virtually every shutter speed my camera offers but made a big mistake that cost me perfection for many of the 600-some photos I took of this, the second of four lunar eclipses over 18 months. My mistake has to do with the vibration reduction switch, which I mistook for the lens lock switch. It was dark. And it was 3 a.m., so I wasn't at my best. Still, some worked. The night sky in a long exposure is especially amazing. You can see stars. A beautiful way to spend a morning.
